Is it really worth the wait?

Crazy how we all sometimes find ourselves continually waiting on something that's never gonna happen. We put ourselves in situations that seem like a game and no matter how hard we try we just cant seem to win. Day by Day we complain about how tired we are, or how much we hate waiting; But we never give up. We say stuff like " Oh well it seems like its about to happen " but in reality we know that it's not...... We constantly tell ourselves this stuff to make us feel better, or to give us hope.
Every little cute or nice thing he says gives us hope.
We take the smallest compliments and gestures as a reason to keep us waiting. Just "him" texting us first, Seems to put the biggest smile on our faces. Putting a smiley face after something can make our day shoot from bad to good just through a text.
But why? Why do we put ourselves in positions that keep us waiting? Why do we continue to let ourselves be a second option, eventhough we deserve to be the first and only. Why are we attracted to the guys that we know aren't the best for us?
Time and Time again we put ourselves down. Stuff goes through our minds like " What does she have that I don't?" and "What makes her so special"; We believe things that aren't ever so slighty true: Not good enough. Not pretty enough. Too fat for him. Too skinny for him. Etc.
We shouldn't dedicate our lives to someone who's not dedicating there's to ours. We shouldn't let ourselves be someones rebound. We shouldn't continue to believe that we're not good enough.
We need to start believing and realizing that we are good enough. We need to find someone who will like us as much as we like them. We need to find someone who will appreciate us as much as we appreciate them. We need to find someone who will treasure the time we spend together.
Now we all need to stop waiting on guys who aren't worth our time and find a guy who is. The best outcome we will get is just being happy for once <3
Sincerely,
Akayla Miranda.
